About Me

Greetings and salutations!

My name is Baya, and I am seventeen years old. I specialize in painting mountain landscapes. I have been painting for four years, although I have been drawing for most of my life.

My passion for art began in childhood. I would replicate drawings and characters from the books I read, filling numerous sketchbooks. However, I never intended to become an artist! In my younger years, I aspired to be an actress and devoted seven years to that pursuit. Yet, I would always return home and spend hours drawing. Eventually, I recognized my deep love for art and chose to pursue it over acting - a decision I consider the best I've ever made. Once art transitioned from a mere hobby to a serious endeavor, I was committed to enhancing my skills with every piece I created. My drawing abilities improved rapidly, and at the age of thirteen, I picked up a paintbrush for the first time.

My initial paintings were far from amazing, but I cherished the painting process and was eager to practice. I copied from books, followed tutorials, and developed my own unique style of creating scenes. I am fortunate to have a mother who captures stunning photographs, and I used several of her images as references for my paintings.

However, I soon felt a sense of confusion. I had not yet discovered my niche; I was experimenting with various subjects, trying to determine what I truly loved to paint. It didn't take long for me to realize that my passion lay in mountains. Since childhood, I have had a profound appreciation for mountains, particularly for two of the most beautiful places on earth: Scotland and Alaska.

My first mountain painting, titled 'Dreaming of Alaska,' holds a special place in my memory. When I painted it, I felt an overwhelming sense of joy - I had found my niche. Painting mountains felt natural to me, and I immediately knew this was the subject I wanted to focus on.

Now, four years later, that feeling remains unchanged. While I enjoy experimenting with different scenes, my favourite subject to paint will always be mountains.
