About the artist

At just 17 years old, Baya has emerged as a remarkable landscape artist, showcasing her talent and passion for art from a young age. A true child prodigy, she began her artistic journey at the tender age of seven, and since then, she has dedicated herself to drawing and painting almost every day. By the age of 14, Baya had already made her mark in the art world, selling her first painting at an exhibition.

Completely self-taught, her artistic abilities are a divine gift, reflecting her unique perspective and creativity. Baya's deep connection to her Celtic ancestry fuels her love for mountains, which she prefers to depict over any other landscape. The majestic peaks of her mother's birthplace in the Highlands of Scotland, along with the stunning mountains of Alaska and Germany, serve as her primary inspirations.

Baya's passion for history is vividly reflected in her artwork. An avid reader, she dedicates her free time to reading and translating old English medieval texts and maps, often collaborating with her younger sister to interpret these fascinating relics of history. Beyond the pages of ancient manuscripts, Baya finds joy in the great outdoors, particularly in lush green spaces that invigorate her spirit. England's rich tapestry of old-world buildings serves as a wellspring of inspiration for her paintings, as she frequently explores these architectural marvels, allowing their timeless beauty to fuel her artistic imagination for her next piece.

Having been home-educated, Baya completed her education at 16 and has since fully committed herself to her career as an artist. To date, she has successfully sold ten original paintings, primarily showcased in exhibitions held at historic manor houses managed by the National Trust.

In a conscious effort to align her artistic practice with her organic lifestyle and beliefs, Baya made the decision in 2025 to work exclusively with natural clay paints. This choice not only reflects her commitment to sustainability but also enhances the authenticity of her work, allowing her to draw inspiration from the beauty of the natural world and the timeless techniques of the Old Masters.
